EPA AIM Act enforcement is live. Violations: up to $60,000/violation/day. Are you compliant? →
⚠️ AIM Act enforcement begins 1/1/2026 — Appliance leak rates over 20% make you a target for EPA enforcement actions, fines, and potential mandatory full-system replacements.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
AIM Act — EPA's Refrigerant Leak Detection Regulations
Appliance leak rates over 20% make you a target for EPA enforcement actions, fines, and potential mandatory full-system replacements. And, many similar state-level requirements are already in effect. Remotely deploy ALD across your fleet today to help minimize compliance risk and prepare for audits — no new hardware or site visits required. Reducing leak rates also drives significant financial and sustainability benefits.

RESOURCES
Does the AIM Act apply to my facilities?
The AIM Act applies to owners and operators of refrigeration appliances with a full charge of 15 lbs or more of regulated refrigerant. Many multi-site grocery, convenience, and food service operators fall within scope. Review the EPA's official fact sheet to determine your obligations.

OPPPORTUNITY
"You've known that leak rates are a problem... now, the EPA has given you the opportunity to put this at the very top of your list."
— Amrit Robbins, CEO of Axiom Cloud
Compliant with EPA and State-Level Requirements
Predictive Refrigerant Loss Detection
Axiom's Early Leak Detection module complies with EPA requirements for indirect Automatic Leak Detection (ALD) systems. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) lists Axiom Cloud as an ALD system.
-
Completely remote deployment — no new hardware or site visits required
-
Does not require receiver-level sensors or PPM refrigerant "sniffers"
-
Eliminates the requirement for quarterly manual leak checks
-
Uses AI to identify system-level changes in performance trends that are leading indicators for a leak (primarily, 8+ families of indicators including superheat values, valve positions, component runtimes, enthalpy values, etc.) — patent pending
-
Addresses the primary driver of scope 1 emissions: high refrigerant leak rates
-
Helps identify the locations of leaks to make onsite technicians more efficient

HOW IT WORKS
Software is refrigeration's new best friend
Axiom helps identify and resolve leaks prior to business losses
Axiom's Early Leak Detection module uses AI to identify system-level changes in performance trends that are leading indicators for a leak (primarily, 8 families of indicators including superheat values, valve positions, component runtimes, enthalpy values, etc.).
Axiom does not require receiver-level sensors or PPM refrigerant "sniffers" to work, but these sensor values can be used in the model if the sensors are already installed, functioning properly, and calibrated.
Axiom can detect leaks anywhere in the refrigeration system, regardless of location. It can also help to isolate the location of leaks to specific cases, case groups, or racks (depending on the specific leak location). In this graph, leaks are typically found at point 7 when temperature alarms are triggered. This can lead to spoilage, downtime, and loss of sales. Axiom enables companies to catch leaks at points 2 or 3, saving not only refrigerant costs, but potential outages.
